Charlotte de Valence
Twenty-Two
Female
5'6"
Heterosexual
Princess
ONCE UPON A TIME
PERSONALITY:
Charlotte de Valence maybe known as the kingdom's own Air-Headed, Escape Artist, Princess Extraordinaire, but to family and close friends, she prefers to go by Charlotte or Lotti, and for those who really know how to get under her skin, it's Charlie.
This recent heir to the throne was well endowed with her father's sense of wit and strive for knowledge, but sometimes this over zealous curiosity can get the better of her. Resulting in this head in the clouds type persona that her subjects have come to associate her with. All in all, she's your typical young girl at the time who only longs for passionate romance, mannerly tea parties, and playfully giggly to all things cute or shiny. Yet, due to recent events, these certain realities have been put aside for more...'grown-up' tasks. Such as running a kingdom.
Charlotte is more than meets the eye. Continuing on the love for knowledge that her father, the past king, had sparked in the young, newly-made queen, it can be seen in her studies of history, economics, and culture. She is widely versed in languages as well as understanding to the historical and cultural aspects of the tribes, people, and other kingdoms surrounding her own. Lotti is noting short of an intellectual, but has far to go on wisdom.
Her stubborn nature prevents her from ever admitting it, but the naivety of her still young mind has left her innocent and vulnerable to potential enemies. Growing up, her father and mother never pushed her to learn of the harsh realities the world had to offer. Books and teachers were her only true connection outside. Despite this, she does her best to keep peace among all, and even her own self, but it seems that her lack of insight to the delvings occurring it the festering cracks of her kingdom have left everyone on uneasy ground still. Though, Princess Charlotte is striving to do her best. Perseverance has been one of the few redeeming qualities seen publicly from her, and has been a large part of the glue holding her home and kingdom together.
So, as of recently Charlotte has been sneaking out of the castle, away from her palace guards. Even though the princess hates lies and liars alike, it seems that only with the help of a little white lie about taking time in her personal library in the tower or tending to the garden in the far western corridor does she ever get enough privacy to sneak into a disguise and over the palace gates. This is her chance to learn about what is really happening in her kingdom, though! Charlotte will not pass it up, and is determined to uphold the Valence name and protect the kingdom.
"It will not fall. Not long as the blood in my viens runs deep in my soul, and the kingdom's roots hold firm against all that oppose."
This is a final line left to Charlotte by her father, only a day before his unforeseen death. The sorrow and bitterness of her parent's death still runs deep in the young girl's heart, and her avengence for them is still fresh on her mind. The real world has finally hit Charlotte hard, and with reality sinking in, so is the instincts passed down for generations in the Valence line to help her run this kingdom. But is it too late? Will she be consumed by the world outside of the castle and her own personal fancies or innocent nature? Or will she endure and find her parent's killer, as well as the truth behind the rumore of her exiled uncle and his connection to the recent events? Either way, Charlotte de Valence's kind heart and strong ahoulders will bear the burden and heal the pain of now her kingdom.

EXTRA INFO: **Both of Charlotte's parents are now dead to an unforeseen killing, with the murderer still on the loose. Charlotte is still secretly shaken up by their death's and the idea that their killer might come back to finish her off. She feels safe in the castle walls, but sometimes, she wonders how safe her own home might actually be. Charlotte goes as far to sometimes think that it was a traitor from the castle, still lurking among the servants and soldiers today.
**Charlotte loves a good book, she can be found reading at about any time of the day, and enjoys having tea, hot or cold, with her book. There is a specific library in an upper tower of the castle that is Charlotte's own personal abode with collections of books of her own choosing, and a few of her father's that were her favorite's. This is also the location she uses as an excuse of where she is when she sneaks out of the castle. The side window with a ladder dropping down from its sill leads straight to the top of the castle's outer walls, and its not uncommon for Lotti to spends hours or even a full day locked up in that tower.
**Speaking of sneaking out, Lotti has become more or less notorious for her escape artist like skills. A secret dream of the princess has always been to travel the land, and see the other worlds with her own eyes! But, being a princess has kept her chained within the castle walls all her life, and probably forever will. Unless, she sneaks out in the dead of night and seeks out adventure among the woods and forests surrounding the castle or even going as far as to venture into the city. Perhaps, she'll even interact with her civilians at times to get an 'inside' look at what is going on in the lives of those around the kingdom. However, for the most part, she uses this mostly as an escape from the real world, and to just be another young woman in the world for a little while.
