THE STORY GOES LIKE THIS
long ago, atlantis was a prosperous city, the domain of the mighty poseidon, god of the sea. everyone knows the story: the people became greedy, and upset by this, poseidon destroyed the city and sent it crashing under the waves, never to be seen again.
years have passed, decades, centuries even, since homer first wrote of the famed city. people of the mainland began moving outwards, traversing the oceans and seas in the never-ending search for something thought to be no more than a myth.
now, it is the early 1700s. christopher columbus has come and gone, and the spirit of adventure is growing. people are getting braver, going farther and farther, searching deeper than they ever have before. danger sits around the bend of every new discovery, but the explorers appetite for riches and fame pushes them onward. adventurers, merchants, and pirates, are all taking advantage of a brave new world far beyond the horizon.
most ships never return, succumbing to the perils of the sea, but captain elijah van etten, a wealthy sailor, is determined to change this. when he was young, only a small boy, his father left on an expedition for atlantis and never returned. after that, elijah dedicated his life to studying the lost city, and now that he has come of age, he has prepared a crew to finish his father's work. will they find the lost city?
while the mainland is holding their breath for elijah's safe return, an escaped convict, the infamous sinbad, is scheming against him. sinbad and his crew of rowdy pirates have been searching for the lost city for nearly a decade now, and they will do anything in their power to stop the inexperienced sailor from stealing their fame.
who will discover the lost city first? or, perhaps it would be better if it was not discovered at all.

malakai – played by: reserved
playby name: bonten
the god of the kunai temple, seen by outsiders as a heartless savage. he is, without a doubt, a dictator, but it is not because he craves power. he simply wishes to keep his people safe. after the rift, when the land separated from the earth, living became harder, and in order to survive, he had to first harden his heart. abiding strictly by the prophecies of the gods, he abhors the men in the over-sized ships, knowing all they will bring is trouble. unlike the gaia tribes, malakai is unwelcoming to newcomers, and he has forbidden his tribe to associate with the strange men below.
THE LOST CITY OF ATLANTIS
the city was plunged into the depths of the sea long ago by an angry poseidon. many of the citizens were washed away as it sank, but as a last gift, the sea god granted those left with survival. rocks fell around the city in just the right way, creating a large open space that water could not penetrate, and a large dome of oxygen was placed around the pitiful remains of the city by poseidon, allowing refugees a chance to repent. the lost city, over centuries, has finally started to flourish again, but it remains hidden deep under the surface.
THE VILLAGE OF GAIA
home to an exotic, indigenous race, gaians are native to the bermuda islands. their main village is located in the center of the largest isle, but they have small tribes dispersed throughout. they survive by hunting and harvesting the land, living in well-built huts. upon discovering the islands, travelers often see the gaians as savages. they want the native people's land for their own, and because of this, not all members of the tribe are welcoming to foreigners from the mainland. think columbus and the native americans.
THE LEGENDARY FLOATING ISLES
the floating isles used to be part of the bermuda islands, but long ago, a mysterious shift in gravity caused the land masses to break apart and rise into the sky. on the night of the full moon, they are pulled back down to rest atop the ocean, and this is the only time those below can reach them. the territory has been untouched for years, uncharted and wild. the land is home to many exotic flora and fauna, including the dragon-like creatures known as ayries, and the kunai, an fierce indigenous race. these people often have animal-like qualities about them, such as enlarged ears and tails, and are protective homeland.
THE EDGE OF THE EARTH
at this time, explorers still believe the world is flat, rather than a spherical orb. it's said that if you sail far enough to the east, past the point of no return, you will reach the edge of the earth, where the ocean pours into a never-ending hole. so, what's the attraction? there is a great treasure hidden in a dark cavern nearby, guarded by an ancient serpent known as the kraken. the thought of gold and riches lures foolish explorers into the dangerous waters. many have tried to steal it, but no one has ever made it back to tell the tale.
